Saved to Serve!

Here’s a bite-sized piece of encouragement from your Bible. Also included is a featured song that is sure to lift your spirit. May your heart and soul be blessed.      –G–

“And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,” –Deuteronomy 10:12 NKJV

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” –Psalms 100:2 NKJV

“The Lord will never say to you, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant,’ unless you have done well and have been a good and faithful servant.” –Rev. Billy W. Lewis

“God did not save you to be a sensation. He saved you to be a servant.” –John E. Hunter

So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” –Exodus 23:25 NKJV

“Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God, be careful to seek out all the commandments of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land, and leave it as an inheritance for your children after you forever. As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.” –1 Chronicles 28:8-10 NKJV

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded….

…So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” –John 13:3-5, 12-17 NKJV

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” –1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” –Hebrews 12:28 NKJV

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'” –Matthew 25:21 NKJV
