WordfortheWay.com is a blog designed to give you a brief dose of God’s Word, the Bible — to encourage, to strengthen, and to prepare you for your daily walk in this thing we call life.
That being the case, I would like to invite you to join me in reading the Bible through this year. I have provided a daily Bible reading schedule to assist you in your personal journey through God’s Word.
I have found that approximately 20–25 minutes each day is all the time you need to invest to achieve this noble goal. Won’t you join me? I believe you will be blessed by doing so. (See instructions below to get started.)
Here are a few scriptures that detail some of the reasons I encourage you to read your Bible on a daily basis.
Psalms 19:7-11 KJV — The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Psalms 119:89, 105, 140, 160 KJV — LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. … NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. … Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. … Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
John 17:17 KJV — Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Psalms 33:4 KJV — For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
1 Peter 1:25 KJV — But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
John 6:66-68 KJV — From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
